This itinerary is a suggested route and can be adjusted to suit the traveller’s preferred dates and available accommodation.
A suitable 4WD vehicle should be included because access to Jebel Akhdar is controlled at a checkpoint. Driving directly over desert dunes should not be permitted under the package. Where necessary, the selected desert camp should collect guests from a confirmed meeting point.
Customers should avoid driving outside towns after dark because roads may be poorly illuminated and animals can unexpectedly cross the road. Wadis must not be entered during heavy rain or when flash-flood warnings are in effect.
The most comfortable period for this trip is generally from October through April. Summer departures should carry a prominent heat warning.
